1st, Saturday; FOLWCC GRAND RE-OPENING !! 4-7p.m. Food, Music & Fun! Thank You to our broad community of supporters, volunteers and friends who have helped us repair, renovate & comeback better and stronger than we were before!

1st, Saturday; FOLWCC hosts a Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) and Community reception; 7:30-11:00pm.

6-9th; Friday-Sunday; National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL) 47th Annual Conference in Chicago, IL. “Escalating Our Fight In the Decade: Bringing Human Rights Home” ;Friday 1-3pm discussion on the draft Freedom Manifesto & the Policy Platform for Black Lives. For more info: www.ncbl.org

21st ; Saturday; North Carolina Environmental Justice Network (NCEJN)’s 18th Annual EJ Summit in Whitakers, NC!; go to www.ncejn.org for registration and program information

22nd, Saturday; Hip Hop 4 Justice sponsored Brunch/Workshop – workshop topic: Know Your Rights and What to do if Stopped by the Police. Do you really know what rights you have or how to handle being stopped by police? You may be surprised by how misinformed you could be. Come out for a very lively, informative and interactive workshop conducted by attorney Angaza Mayo-Laughinghouse. $5- donation for food.

23rd; Sunday; Fruit of Labor Singing Ensemble Meeting/Rehearsal & Jam – 2:00pm

28th; Friday; FOLWCC hosts Rock, Groove & Jam for Justice Fundraiser. Join us for an evening of great live performances from local artists and musicians, fun, food, vendors, information on being an active participant in social change and building community power. $12

5th, Friday, FINANCIAL HEALTH WORK SHOP SERIES kick-off; 6:00pm

5th, Friday, Wine & Cheese Networking Social. If you are small business owner, community contractor, service provider, artist, musician, realtor, community or worker cooperative or progressive looking for a place to give your time and energy to build a stronger community, this kind of networking social is for you! Free but, donations are welcome; 7:00pm

8th, Tuesday; Election Night Watch. Watch the poll returns come in with us on the big screen! 7:00pm

19th, Saturday; 6pm -9:00pm; Hip-Hop 4 Justice, poetry and music with a positive message. Do you have something to say? Well then, step up to the open mic and spit fire! $8 donation includes food. Sponsored by Black Workers for Justice Youth.
