6-9th; Friday-Sunday; National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL) 47th Annual Conference in Chicago, IL. “Escalating Our Fight In the Decade: Bringing Human Rights Home” ;Friday 1-3pm discussion on the draft Freedom Manifesto & the Policy Platform for Black Lives. For more info: www.ncbl.org

22nd, Saturday; Hip Hop 4 Justice sponsored Brunch/Workshop – workshop topic: Know Your Rights and What to do if Stopped by the Police. Do you really know what rights you have or how to handle being stopped by police? You may be surprised by how misinformed you could be. Come out for a very lively, informative and interactive workshop conducted by attorney Angaza Mayo-Laughinghouse. $5- donation for food.

28th; Friday; FOLWCC hosts Rock, Groove & Jam for Justice Fundraiser. Join us for an evening of great live performances from local artists and musicians, fun, food, vendors, information on being an active participant in social change and building community power. $12

19th, Saturday; 6pm -9:00pm; Hip-Hop 4 Justice, poetry and music with a positive message. Do you have something to say? Well then, step up to the open mic and spit fire! $8 donation includes food. Sponsored by Black Workers for Justice Youth.
